By definition, an affirmation is a statement repeated time and again
either verbally or mentally, and/or written down. Affirmations are
statements that one uses to allow the manifestation of your desires
and wants. They are very powerful and when worded correctly -- and
when emotionally charged - are able to tap into the unlimited creative
power of your subconscious mind, and manifest your desires.
Our minds are incredibly potent, and living in an energetic world,
being energetic beings, our thoughts/feelings/beliefs makes up the
energetic material that creates our own individual world. Remember
the old saying, “ Be careful what you wish for, you just might
get it!” Well believe it, it’s true!
So, we grow up being told that we’re
not good enough, we can’t possibly succeed, the world is an
awful place, don’t say that you are good – that’s
being conceited, and so on. Recognise all this conditioning? And
the more that we are subjected to it, the more we believe, and the
more that we believe, the more true it becomes in our lives.
How is it working for you so far?
How about changing things right now? And yes, you can start off
real small and real
simple. Do you have an ache, or a pain, something that is niggling?
Why not try…. I am now
totally pain free! But it just doesn’t stop there. Think to
yourself, how will that feel to not have any pain. Feel your heart
do a little skip? That’s the emotion. It’s the combination
of thought with an emotion that makes affirmations so exquisitely
powerful.
The idea behind these techniques is pretty simple. The use of positive
affirmations is a technique to change that negative self-talk
into something more positive. Always use present tense. Now is where
you have the most power. I will just
doesn’t cut it. When will you do
it, how will you do it, when will it come.?! I will turn on the
light switch! WHEN?
NOW! “I am
now healthy, happy and pain free.”
Whatever statement means something
to YOU! VERY IMPORTANT! There are so many
affirmations that are a mile long and you have to memorise the words!
It’s not just about words. You have to feel it too. Adding
the emotion to the statement is like putting helium into a balloon.
It makes it fly higher, faster, better!
It has to relate to you,
it has to mean something to you!
You want that car, better health, that special person, better job….then
say it. And how will it FEEL when you get that car, person, health,
job. There’s your helium. Better yet, imagine it. See it in
your mind. You holding the keys to that car, happy walking along
with your better health, holding hands with that special person,
shaking hands with your new boss etc. Believe that it CAN happen.

Be repetitive. You said to yourself how many
times how hopeless you are?; well now you have to substitute that
statement with the new one,…Alot. Keep on saying it, writing
it, visualising it UNTIL IT COMES TRUE! It’s that simple.
Don’t believe me, then just try it!
